12/13/2023 0 Comments Adobe captivate 2019 upgradeThinking about a split approach for existing and new projects maybe (breakpoints and fluid box)… but more research is needed before I will move forward with this approach potentially. Yeah previous developers at the organisation relied heavily on groups and items on master slider (not aware of any rest of project setups though) and after reading your article, breakpoints makes sense for existing projects. I have mixed feedback on previous courses, however as they were built by other developers, I have a clean slate to start with the best approach I think will be right for me and the organisation. I don’t have them in GIFT files but will work on them now. Yeah quizzes have been a bit of a nightmare for me in the past (that’s why I found your article on fluid box/text scaling etc on quiz slides so interesting). I will read your articles on object style and already read your fluid boxes on master slides (I will re-read though). Thank you for this great and in-depth response. It has become bit easier in CP2019, but still… do not expect to be up and running right away. Just FYI: although I was a beta tester, it took me about 3 months to get my head around the Fluid Boxes workflow when it was released with C2017. Do you have a lot of groups, items timed for the rest of the project, items on the main master slide? If yes, stay with Breakpoints as well. Just a warning: you did read about the limitations of Fluid Boxes in that post. Were the courses satisfactory when published n CP9? Keep to Breakpoints in that case. Once a theme is updated, and you see issues with the upgraded file, start by deleting and recreating the quiz slides (all types, including pretest and KC slides if you have them).Īs for the choice of workflow, difficult to tell. I don’t know if that is the case? Do you have GIFT files for quizzes? If not, you can create them as preparation. That make it a lot easier to recreate a quiz in a later version, where you need to use another theme. Within the theme, the quizzing master slides may be the most sensitive.įor quizzes: I recommend to use always GIFT (or for CP2019 CSV) import. A Fluid Boxes theme is totally different from a Breakpoints Theme (search for my blogs about Object Style manager, and Fluid boxes on master slides). Most developers (training and books as well) ignore the functionality of themes. The most critical component when upgrading is the theme.
